In the early 20th century, the picturesque hills and dense forests of Champawat, nestled in the Kumaon region of India, were shrouded in an atmosphere of dread. This tranquil landscape, usually filled with the songs of birds and the rustle of leaves, had become the haunting domain of a formidable Bengal tigress, known to history as the Man-Eater of Champawat. Amidst this turmoil, a figure of hope emerged in the form of Jim Corbett, a skilled hunter renowned for his bravery and deep understanding of wildlife. Corbett managed to track the tiger, and on 9th April 1907, he successfully shot and killed the Man-Eater of Champawat.
